I always feel so much more put together when my nails are done, but I can't always get to the nail salon - nor do I really want to budget regular trips... it can add up! When gel manis came out and I got my first one, I was HOOKED. Zero dry time (no smudging them trying to get your car door open), it didn't interfere with the rest of my day, and they last so much longer than traditional polish. Ever time I see nail polish at the store that claims to be "gel" or a gel-like formula, I always try it. So when Terrah from @thenailcoalition asked if I wanted to try these Color Street Polish Strips - I knew had to test them out.
Each package contains a mini file, alcohol pads and 2 sets of 8 polish strips - each a different size to guarantee the right fit for any shape nail. I actually watched a short youtube video before applying these - you can watch it HERE.
The process was actually super easy. I do wish my nails were a little longer this time, but I had to chop them off after peeling off my last gel mani (I should know better). To start, I filed my nails, pushed back my cuticles, buffed them a little bit so that the surface of my nail bed was smooth, then used the alcohol swabs to clean any dirt or debris. Once I found the correct size strip for my nails, I just peeled off both plastic backings, the little tab at the end, and stuck it on my nail as close to my cuticle as I could get it. Once in place, I just smoothed the strip onto my nail, making sure there were no air bubbles, and gently filed off the extra strip. I was careful not to destroy the strip because you actually use the other end of the strip for the same nail on the other hand!
The end result is a perfect manicure with zero dry time. #WIN!
The whole process was super easy and didn't take long at all... although I'm sure it'll go even faster next time now that I know how to do it.
I've been wearing them for about a week and I'm thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be ordering more of these. I can't wait to try out the rest of the colors!
